I don't like John McCain. Let's get this out front-and-center. I believe that he has too many character flaws and examples of his complete incompetence to garner a single vote, let alone mine. He has no respect for women, and he has no respect for moral authority because if he did, he'd realize that his military service and subsequent torture 100 years ago is no form a prerequisite for the presidency. Also, I'm not one to believe that one's military service indicates more patriotism. Perhaps it is a clear indication of more bravery, but certainly not patriotism. Exactly who does he think he is, the patriotism police? If military service was all there was to running for office, then I guess our government would consist of more military personnel than politicians, attorneys, and the like. It would just about quantify that only military personnel and those who served in wars were our representatives, instead of just being a citizen who is passionate about whichever spectrum of the political scope better suits them. This is itself is enough for his disqualification, but of course, I'm not finished.
Perhaps the most ridiculous statement endorsed by the tongue of John McCain is the fact that he blames Barack Obama for the explosion of gas prices. Really John? You have been in Washington a total of 26 years, and yet you blame someone who hasn't even been there a decade with something that you and your do-nothing colleagues could have done something about. You have been there twiddling your thumbs to the tune of the taxpayers, making an indefinite career out of accomplishing nothing, voting for various proposals, and then voting against the same proposals you were once for whenever you see that it's not working for you in the polls. Remember the one on immigration? Oh, I forgot. I'm speaking about "McCan't Remember." Or should I refer to him as "McLow-Road Express?" Either way, the point is, you sir, lack the sort of character that I would want in the White House after Bush. You have not a plan to attempt to influence the nations of OPEC to lower gas prices. Instead, you want to drill offshore, which in my opinion, would be a wonderful idea if it would assist the citizens now and not years from now. But yet again, this is your response to your poll numbers. Why would I expect anything different.
Yet another blemish on the record of Mr. McCan't is the fact that he is hell-bent on continuing a war that we never should have started. Look, we all know that Republicans are masters of diversionary tactics. Just look at the fact that our initial reponse to 9/11 should have been to look for Osama bin Laden, but somehow, it turned into a very public assassination of Saddam Hussein. Now, if this isn't diversion, then I guess I don't know what is. Well, subsequent to that, we lost our leveraging power in Nato and other world organizations, and we have also lost our prestige and standing in the eyes of our fellow nations. Having said that, the war was and still is a disaster with relatively no peaceful end in sight, expecially for Americans, and he just wants to continue this downward spiral of our world standing, our economy, and the depletion of our military men and women, and not to mention military bases. He doesn't want to talk to terrorist groups, or Iran, and we see that not talking to them isn't working either. We could at least take the time to discuss their problems the way that they see it, try to map out a plan in order to get them to realize that peace is a better alternative than war, and assist them in helping to accomplish their goals so that it would make us, and the rest of the world, more stabilized, and most importantly, safer. Obviously, it hasn't occured to him that this is a better route to go. Even Bush is coming around to the idea of a 16-month Iraq withdrawl of our troops, and who's to say that before he leaves office, he won't deem it necessary to talk to those countries he considered terrorist-supporters so that we could at least decrease our gas prices if nothing else. At least we find in Obama a man who is willing to try another resolution, such as having bilateral talks with these nations and ironing out a plan to bring peace and stabilized gas prices. After all, as I said before, not talking to them just isn't working as a diplomatic, strategic, or military strategy because in the end, it's costing Americans their lives and their livelihoods.
In Obama, I see a refreshing horizon. Someone who is willing to try a different approach in order to accomplish the tasks that would wind up benefiting America. Although initially he wasn't my choice for the party in which I belong, I have grown to accept that fact, and have decided to hear him out and give him the same opportunity to either improve our standing, or make it worse. Basically, he deserves the same opportunity that Bush and others have gotten. Forget about his lack of experience because if you look at it, neither one of them has the experience of being President under their belts, and no one before them either. And experience, much like most other attributes, are nice to have, but it doesn't guarantee that someone will be successful at any task due to simply possessing it.
Also, Obama has character and political etiquette, and has taken the high road just as he promised throughout this very difficult run for office. Might I remind everyone that it was John McCain who began slinging mud first after making all those promises that he wouldn't. And not to mention, Obama is very intelligent, quick-thinking, and articulate. Much moreso than John, ah what's his name? As a matter of fact, he should never debate John because it would look as though he's beating on an old, dimentia-riddled candidate whom no one can believe beat even beat out Mr. 9/11 himself for the nomination. Please republicans! If this is the best you could do, stop now and come back to the debate when you have a formidable candidate to run.
